I recently completed the Hynotherapist Certification class with Jeff. The class was such a life-changing event for me. Jeff was a wonderful teacher who always made sure that everyone understood every topic we went over. He was a very warm and friendly teacher. He always answered people’s questions and went into detail about hypnotherapy. I was really able to understand how hypnosis works and learn how powerful it is! Jeff did demonstrations of the different hypnotherapy techniques with students and I was amazed at how people were able to really clear some personal issues just from a 40 minute demo.

I also enjoyed how Jeff gave us several opportunities to apply what we learned about hypnosis and practice on each other. I loved the hands-on-training we had as being the therapist and the client. Not only did I have a chance to learn how to be a hypnotherapist but I also was able to be a client and work on some personal issues. After being the client during a practice hypnosis session with another student, I was able to gain a new perspective on the relationship I have with my parents. Coming from a dysfunctional family, I went into hypnosis trying to clear some of the blockages I had with my parents. I found that while in hypnosis I was shown how my parents and I have shared many past lives together and also how unconditional their love for me is. It was a very beautiful and spiritual experience. This discovery in hypnosis helped me to heal and feel more positive about the relationship I have with my parents today.

Thank you Jeff for being such an amazing teacher! You have been such an inspiration to me! You have so much compassion for people and I just appreciate how you are so warm, non-judgmental and thorough in your teaching. You took the time to ensure that our group of students learned, understood and could possibly receive some healing during the practice sessions. I took the course to learn how to be a hypnotist offered by The New York Hypnosis Center. It was very well run in that the notes and lectures we were given were immediately followed by practical experience. Everything was very hands on and the excellent teaching by Jeff Cohen made the whole situation very conducive to obtaining the skill he was teaching. No question or query was not answered and explained fully in a way that made the whole experience very fulfilling.

I came to the Basic Hypnotherapy Certification Course with several questions on my mind. What is Hypnosis? What are its benefits? What is the procedure? What happens to a person in a hypnotic state? Will I be able to learn the art? Needless to add that underlying these and the other questions on my mind were many misconceptions or false beliefs about hypnosis that are all too familiar.

As the course progressed, my concept of what hypnosis is, or is not, underwent a fundamental change. I quickly realized the immensity and value of hypnosis as a tool to facilitate a client’s ability to impact his/her life through positive change. And, at the end of the course, not only had I learned the basics of hypnotherapy, including different styles of hypnosis, different hypnotic induction methods, and how to conduct pre-induction interview or pre-talk (intake session), I also learned self hypnosis and how to teach a client self hypnosis.

I was fortunate to have attended a hypnotherapy course that was taught by a very knowledgeable and highly experienced professional in the person of Jeff Cohen, M.Ht. I highly recommend this course, and any other course given by Paul Aurand and Jeff Cohen, to anyone interested in studying hypnotherapy. Both instructors impart their years of experience and knowledge to each student. All aspects of each hypnotherapy session is discussed and demonstrated with supervised practice and Q&A sessions. In some way, I am certain you both know that you touch peoples’ lives with the training you offer . What you don’t know is that I walked away not really understanding what it was that I experienced, just knowing that it was good for me. It has to be good for me, to feel as well as I do. I feel more loving and compassionate. Thank you for this gift in addition to the training. What I loved about the training was the comfortable manner you both have about you, sharing all of your years of experience. You are both so capable. You took the time to answer all of my questions. I was really there to learn how to mimic Paul Aurand’s style, which I had experienced in three classes at the NGH, and knew it was the right fit for me. I knew I needed to learn more about regression work, reassuring the client, and helping the client change beliefs that no longer serve them.

Again, I stumbled on past life regression, thinking that it was just going to be an additional part of the class. It was interesting that all of the other students seemed to know they were there for that reason. This keeps happening to me and the effect is incredible each time. I stumble upon something and then it seems to change my life. Jeff, I think your kindness towards me as a student, and the encouragement you gave me helped so much in understanding the approach to take. A great take-away for me was “asking permission”. Hi Jeff,
I have been meaning to send you an e-mail since part 1 of our course ended last week. I can't adequately explain to you how being in your company, along with all those other wonderful people, uplifted me. I'm amazed at how spiritual everyone in that room was. It wouldn't have been something I'd expect considering the diverse mix of people, but there was an undeniable commonality in belief systems.
